ESXi 5.0 Auto Deploy does not support krb5.conf, krb5-affinity.conf, and krb.realms.conf files through Host Profiles (2002692)

Details

ESXi 5.0 Auto Deploy does not support the configuration of the following files through Host Profiles:

/etc/krb5.conf
/etc/likewise/krb5-affinity.conf
/etc/krb.realms

These configuration files lose the custom settings after you reboot the host deployed with Auto Deploy.

Solution

To keep the custom configuration file settings, add the files to an image builder's image.

Note: The Active Directory Configuration in Host Profiles configures Kerberos automatically. This configuration is not lost after a reboot with Auto Deploy. The settings that are lost are the advanced custom settings in the files mentioned in the Details section.
