Some advanced configuration options are not supported with Host Profiles (2001994)

Details

You are unable to configure some advanced configuration options using host profiles. The configuration options are also not configured after you boot a stateless host that uses Auto Deploy.

The following configuration options are not supported:
  • ScratchConfig.ConfiguredScratchLocation
  • ScratchConfig.CurrentScratchLocation
  • Syslog.Local.DatastorePath
  • Misc.CosCorefile
  • Misc.SerialPort
  • Migrate.Enabled
  • Migrate.Vmknic
  • FT.Vmknic
  • Mem.HostLocalSwapDirEnabled
  • Mem.HostLocalSwapDir
  • All options starting with Config.Defaults.cpuidMask

Solution

Perform the one of the following task to configure the advanced configuration options:
  • Select the host configuration tab for the host in vSphere Client.
  • Use ESXCLI on the host.
Note: The options below require a management agent restart to be effective. For more information, see Restarting the Management agents on an ESX or ESXi Server (1003490).
  • Mem.HostLocalSwapDirEnabled
  • Mem.HostLocalSwapDir
