Installing the QLogic Fibre Channel and Converged Network Adapter CIM Provider

The QLogic Fibre Channel and Converged Network Adapter CIM Provider for VMware ESXi was generated as a vSphere™ Installation Bundle (VIB) file. A VIB contains the complete set of files and binaries required to install the provider on VMware ESXi. The offline-bundle.zip file contains the VIB and the necessary metadata to install the provider on VMware ESXi.

This section has two parts:

Initial installation

To install the QLogic Fibre Channel and Converged Network Adapter CIM Provider using the esxcli software vib install command:

  4. After reboot, enable the provider:

    # /sbin/esxcfg-advcfg -A CIMvmw_providerProviderEnabled -T int -E
    "Enable or Disable the CIMvmw_providerProviderEnabled" -F 1 -N
