Scripted Installation Hangs When VMFS Partitions Are Not Contiguously Listed in the Kickstart File

When I configure a scripted installation with multiple VMFS partitions, the installation hangs. How can I get my installation to work?

Solution

A scripted installation may hang when multiple VMFS partitions listed in the kickstart (ks.cfg) file are not contiguous. To work around this problem, list all the VMFS partitions together (contiguously) when you create the kickstart or boot image file from the Management User Interface.
