How do I get ESX Server to detect new logical unit numbers (LUNs) for IBM DS4500 storage arrays?

Solution

To resolve this issue, make the following changes to the configuration of the ESX Server to detect LUNs on the IBM DS4500 storage array.

  1. Change Default Host Type to Linux.
  2. Change Host Type to Linux.
