VirtualCenter 2.0 Installation on Windows 2000 SP4 Results in HeapSetInformation Error Message

Customers deploying VirtualCenter 2.0 on a Windows 2000 SP4 server may encounter the error message:

The procedure entry point HeapSetInformation could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll.

 

Solution

To avoid this error message, install the Update Rollup 1 patch to Windows 2000 Service Pack 4. This patch is available from Microsoft at support.microsoft.com/kb/891861.
