Issues with Disk Space Required to Create VMware ACE Package (1788)

Details

When I am creating a package with VMware ACE, the New Package Wizard tells me I need an amount of disk space that is twice the size of the package itself. However, the wizard lets me continue regardless of whether or not I have that much disk space available. VMware ACE sometimes is able to create the package. Is there something wrong with a package created when there is too little extra disk space available?

Solution

To ensure that there is enough disk space to create a package, VMware ACE recommends that you have an amount of disk space available that is twice the size of the package.

You can try to create the package anyway if you have less disk space available (though of course you need enough disk space to fit the package itself). Depending upon the contents of the package and whether you encrypt the package, the package may or may not be created. If you cannot create a package after seeing the disk space message, try freeing up some disk space then create the package again.

If VMware ACE is able to create the package with less than the recommended disk space, there is nothing wrong with it.
