Cannot Use CD-ROM Drive in VMware ACE Virtual Machine if Certain Settings Are Selected
Details
I created a virtual machine in VMware ACE Manager and set the CD-ROM drive to use legacy emulation. I set the device connection policy for the drive to No one.
When I run the virtual machine in VMware ACE Manager, I can use the CD-ROM drive normally. But when I run the virtual machine in the VMware ACE application, I cannot use the CD-ROM drive.
What can I do about this problem?
Solution
This problem is seen in VMware ACE 1.0.1.
To work around the problem, you may change either or both of the two settings mentioned in the question.
- In the virtual machine settings, deselect Legacy emulation.
- In the device connection policies, select Everyone.
