USB Drive Doesn't Play Music CD in VMware ACE Virtual Machine

My end user has a USB CD drive attached to a VMware ACE virtual machine. The music player in the guest operating system cannot play a music CD in that drive. Do I need to make any changes?

Solution

VMware ACE can use a USB CD/DVD drive to read data disks. However, it cannot use the USB drive to play music CDs.

If the end user's host computer has an IDE or SCSI optical drive, you can reconfigure the virtual machine to use that drive instead of the USB drive.
