Checking for Updates on Web Fails in VMware ACE Manager

I want to check for updates to VMware ACE, but the Help menu item in VMware ACE Manager doesn't connect me to the VMware Web site and I get an error message. What do I need to do?

Solution

This article applies to VMware ACE 1.0.1.

The first time you choose Help>Check for Updates on the Web, the check may fail with an error message that includes a suggestion to "Check your Web browser configuration settings and your connection hardware."

In most cases, there is no need to change your Web browser configuration or do anything to your Internet connection hardware. Instead, when the error message appears, click Retry. In most cases, the second attempt succeeds.
