Custom Message Not Displayed on Japanese Windows Systems

I created an update package with new network quarantine policies and specified a custom message that users should see when they install the update. However, the message does not appear. My users' computers are running a Japanese version of Windows. Are the new policies applied to their virtual machines?

Solution

This article applies to VMware ACE 1.0.1.

Users on Japanese Windows systems may encounter situations in which a custom message for end users is not updated properly when network quarantine settings change. The VMware ACE application retrieves the new quarantine settings correctly from the server and applies them. But if a Japanese-language text message specified in the policy has also been changed, the application fails to display the new message.

There is no workaround at this time
