Virtual Machine Does Not Enter Full Screen Mode After Powering On from Console on Remote Client (1707)

Details

My virtual machine is configured to enter full screen mode after it is powered on. When I connect to the virtual machine from a remote client and power it on, it does not enter full screen mode automatically. How can I get the virtual machine to enter full screen mode?

Solution

If a virtual machine is configured to enter full screen mode after it is powered on (by choosing VM>Settings>Options>Power>Enter full screen mode after powering on), and you power on the virtual machine from a console on a remote client while a console on the host is connected to it, the virtual machine does not enter full screen mode automatically after it finishes powering on, and a message appears. To be able to interact with the virtual machine's desktop from the console on the client, you must exit full screen mode from the console on the host (press Ctrl-Alt).

Once the virtual machine exits full screen mode, you can enter full screen mode again from the console on the client normally by pressing Ctrl-Alt-Enter.
