Virtual Machines with Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Edition SP1 Crash with ASSERT Error

My virtual machine running Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Edition Service Pack 1 crashes. What can I do?

A virtual machine running Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Edition, Service Pack 1 can crash with an error similar to the following:

ASSERT vmcore/decoder/decoder.c:3242

This problem is fixed in the following releases of VMware products:
