64-Bit Windows Performance Console Does Not Show VMware Performance Object (1696)

Details

I tried to add VMware performance counters to the Windows Performance Console, but there were none to select. Can I monitor GSX Server performance on my Windows host?

Solution

In order to monitor GSX Server host performance with the Windows Performance Console (perfmon), run the 32-bit version, which is located in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\perfmon.exe.

For more information about using the Performance Console with GSX Server, see http://www.vmware.com/support/gsx3/doc/performance_program_win_gsx.html.
