Why did my Red Hat Linux 2.1 workstation fail to install as a Guest Operating System?

Solution

Installations of Red Hat Linux 2.1 workstation guest operating system fail to complete. For virtual machines using BusLogic virtual SCSI adapters with a vlance network adapter, the installation application never prompts for a second installation disc.

To fix the problem, use a BusLogic virtual SCSI adapter with a vmxnet network adapter, or use an LSI Logic adapter with either a vmxnet or vlance network adapter.
