"Unresolved Symbols" Error When Upgrading From ESX Server 2.0 to ESX Server 2.x

Why do I receive an error message after I upgrade from ESX Server version 2.0 to ESX Server version 2.x?

Solution

You may see the following error message after you upgrade from ESX Server version 2.0 to ESX Server version 2.x:

Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.9-vmnix2/kernel/drivers/scsi/qla2x00.o

You see this error message the first time you boot the ESX Server system. You can safely ignore this message. The next time you reboot the server, you do not see this message.
