Browsing to Hidden Files and Folders on a Linux Host

I want to use the VMware Workstation file browser to browse to a hidden file or folder (the name of the file or folder begins with a period) on my Linux host computer. How can I see hidden folders in the file browser?

Solution

To browse to hidden files or folders on a Linux host, right-click the file list, then choose the option for displaying hidden filenames.

Alternatively, you may type the full path. When the file browser appears, press Ctrl-L, then enter the path to the file.
