Adaptec RAID card in Dell PowerEdge 2650 is not shown in Dell OpenManage Web Interface

Details

When I allocate Adpaptec RAID cards on Dell PowerEdge 2650 to VMKernel, they don't show up on the Slots page. Why?

Solution

This behavior on the Dell 2650 is expected. Dell does not support the onboard PERC RAID with ESX Server. You can solve this problem by using the add-in PERC 4/DC card (LSI). If you share the devices, they show up on Slots page. Keeping devices dedicated to the VMKernel does not interfere with the function of the ESX Server machine.
