Error: "3.0.0 is needed by VMwareWorkstationKernelModules-3.0.0-1491."
Details
When I try to unpack the Workstation package, I get the message
"error: failed dependencies: VMwareWorkstation = 3.0.0 is needed
by VMwareWorkstationKernelModules-3.0.0-1491."
Solution
The installer is trying to install the VMware Workstation 3.1
prebuilt modules over the existing VMware Workstation 3.0 modules.
These modules must be removed before you can install VMware
Workstation 3.1.
To remove the modules, at a command prompt, type:
rpm -e VMwareWorkstationKernelModules
