Error Message when Attempting to Use VMware GSX Server Console is Not Informative

Details

You cannot use the VMware Virtual Machine Console from a VMware GSX Server host to connect to a virtual machine running on a VMware Server system. The error message that appears does not explain that this is the reason for the connection failure.

Solution

To connect to VMware Server, install the version of the VMware Server Console that is available from the VMware Management Interface in VMware Server.
