Migration with VMotion Does Not Complete if an External Console is Open

Why does migration with VMotion not complete when I have a
console open on the virtual machine?
Solution
When a console that connects directly to the ESX Server host of
a migrating virtual machine is open, the migration does not complete
until that ESX Server console is closed. This does not occur when the
VirtualCenter Console is open.
Use the VirtualCenter Console to view the virtual machine and
close the external console.
