Changing the IP Address of a Managed Server System in a Lab Manager Environment (1360208)

Solution
Complete these tasks for the Managed Server (ESX Server) system:

Disallow virtual machine deployment.

Undeploy all virtual machines.
-
Remove the system.
- Change the IP address.
-
Add the system back to Lab Manager.
Review the details below.
To disallow deployment of virtual machinesona Managed Server system
- In the left pane of the Lab Manager Web console, click Servers.
- Move the pointer over the Managed Server system and choose Disallow Deployments from the menu.
- Click OK.
To undeploy all virtual machines fora Managed Server system

In the left pane of the Lab Manager Web console, click Servers.

Move the pointer over the Managed Server system and choose Undeploy all and cleanup from the menu.

Click OK.
To remove a Managed Server system
- In the left pane of the Lab Manager Web console, click Servers.
- Move the pointer over the Managed Server system and choose Remove from the menu.
- Click OK.
To change the IP address of the Managed Server system
- ssh to the Managed Server system using PuTTY or another tool.
- Log in as root.
- Change the IP address:

Type vi /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-vswif0 .
-
Change the value of IPADDR to the new IP address.

Save the changes.

Reboot the Managed Server.
To add the Managed Server system back to Lab Manager
-
From the left pane of the Lab Manager Web console, click Servers.

Click Add Server.
-
Enter the information including the new IP address.
-
Click Next.
-
Review the information and click Add.
