Ctrl-Alt-Del During Guest Operating System Login Causes VMware Product Crash

Pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del to log in to my Windows guest operating system occasionally causes GSX Server or Workstation to crash. What is wrong?

Solution

This situation can occur on a Windows host when you need to log in to some Windows guest operating systems. Use Ctrl-Alt-Ins to send the proper signal to the guest.

Tip: The VMware menu includes an option that allows you to send Ctrl-Alt-Del to the guest operating system. Choose VM > Send Ctrl+Alt+Del.
