The VMware View Connection Server fails to start with the debug log error: No available certificate or key corresponds to the SSL cipher suites which are enabled (1038438)

Symptoms

  • The VMware View Connection Server does not start.
  • SSL connection fails.
  • Any connection to the Connection Server fails.
  • Connections to VMware View Manager fail.
  • In the VMware View Manager debug log, you see an error:

Problem with HTTP listener: javax.net.ssl.SSLException: No available certificate or key corresponds to the SSL cipher suites which are enabled.

Note: For more information, see Location of VMware View log files(1027744).

Resolution

This issue occurs if the certificate store is invalid.

The certificate store only contains the signed certificate from the certificate authority. Ensure that you import the signed certificate into the same keystore that was used to generate the certificate request, as it contains the private key that corresponds to the signed certificate.
