Unable to update the iOS software on Apple devices in VMware View 4.6 (1038222)


When using iTunes to update an iOS device (such as an iPod, iPad, or iPhone), you may experience these symptoms:
  • You see an iTunes error indicating that the update failed.
  • Black display on the iOS device showing USB cable icon.


USB connections to iPod, iPad, or iPhone are supported on View 4.6 desktops. However, using iTunes to update an iOS device currently fails.
To resolve this issue, you must connect to a physical desktop PC or MAC and perform the update.
Note: All other USB operations work as expected. Only the OS update fails.
