Cannot add a cloud that has a valid SSL certificate [v. 1.0 only]

Details

In some cases, you may not be able to add a VMware vSphere, VMware vCloud Director, or vCloud Datacenter cloud to vCloud Connector (vCC) unless you select the Ignore SSL Certificate check box.

Solution

When you add a cloud to vCC, it tries to verify the cloud's SSL certificate. If the vSphere, vCloud Director, or vCloud Datacenter cloud you are adding has a self-signed certificate, you must select the Ignore SSL Certificate check box.

If the vSphere, vCloud Director, or vCloud Datacenter cloud you are adding has a  valid certificate signed by a trusted certification authority, you should not have to select the Ignore SSL Certificate check box. However, in some cases, you cannot add the cloud unless you select the check box, or import the root certificate into vCC.

The following example describes how to import a QuoVadis Global SSL ICA certificate:
  1. Log in to the vCC console.
  2. Type the following commands:

wget http://www.quovadisglobal.com/en-GB/QVRepository/~/media/Files/Roots/quovadis_globalssl_der.ashx
sudo /opt/vmware/vccp/scripts/import-ca-cert.sh quovadis_globalssl_der.ashx
sudo service vccp-tomcat restart
