Installation of vFabric Hyperic Server 4.4.x fails after SESSION_ROLES table query (1032788)

Symptoms

During installation, VMware vFabric Hyperic Server 4.4 runs this query against the Oracle database:

SELECT ROLE FROM SESSION_ROLES

If the results of the query do not contain the CONNECT or DBA role names, the installation stops.

Resolution

This is a known issue. For more information, or to track the progress of this issue, see Hyperic issue HHQ-4530.

To resolve this issue, add either the CONNECT or DBA role to the installing user and retry the installation.
