Accessing the vCloud Director Web site fails with the error: Could not verify this certificate for unknown reasons (1032520)

Symptoms

  • Unable to access the vCloud Directory Web site
  • Accessing the vCloud Directory Web site fails
  • You see the error:
Could not verify this certificate for unknown reasons.

vcloud-director vcloud-director-ssl-certificates

Resolution

This issue may occur if the SSL certificate is not valid. 
 
To resolve this issue, you must update or renew the SSL certificates in vCloud Director.
 
To update or renew the SSL certificates in vCloud Director: 
  1. Run this command to stop the vCD cell service:

    service vmware-vcd stop


  2. Run this command to run the configuration script for vCloud Director:

    /opt/vmware/cloud-director/bin/configure

  3. When the script prompts you for a valid SSL certificate, select the appropriate certificate file and then enter the required password.
  4. Restart the vCD service when prompted.
