Adding Network Adapters to VMware vCenter Application Discovery Manager (1030941)

Purpose

It may be necessary to add additional network adapters to a VMware vCenter Application Discovery Manager Collector or Single-box configuration in order to connect to multiple port groups.

As vCenter Application Discovery Manager currently ships as a hardware Level 4 virtual machine, the total number of adapters is limited to four.

Resolution

To add additional network adapters to VMware vCenter Application Discovery Manager:
  1. Power off the VMware vCenter Application Discovery Manger 6.x virtual machine.
  2. Edit the settings for the virtual machine.
  3. Enter additional Network Adapters of type VMXNET or VMXNET 2.
  4. Click Save to save the settings.
  5. Power on the virtual machine.
When adding additional network adapters to a VMware vCenter Application Discovery Manager virtual machine, you must select VMXNET or VMXNET 2 as the adapter type.

Selecting a Flexible or another adapter type may result in re-enumeration of the network adapters and could result in loss of connectivity.
