Configuring the "Use deduplication for Local Mode operations" setting in View 4.5 can cause data corruption in the datacenter copies of View desktops. (1028195)

Details

If the deduplication setting is enabled for local mode operations, the deduplication process that takes place during replication or desktop check-in might cause data corruption in the desktop virtual machine stored in the datacenter. If data corruption occurs, the View desktop can no longer function in local mode or remote mode.

By default, the deduplication setting is disabled.

Solution

Perform the following steps on every View Connection Server instance that manages local mode desktops:
  1. In View Administrator, in the View Configuration > Servers page, select a View Connection Server instance that manages local mode desktops.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. Make sure that the "Use deduplication for Local Mode operations" setting is not selected.
