Changing the maximum number of event records that View Administrator can display (1026196)
Details
To improve performance, View Administrator displays only the most recent 2000 events from the event and event_data tables. You can change this limit by adjusting the value of an attribute in ADAM. If you increase the limit, View Administrator requires more time and system resources to fetch and display the records.
Note You cannot use View Administrator to examine the records in the event_historical and event_data_historical tables. You must use Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle database reporting tools instead. For more information, see the VMware View Integration Guide.
Solution
To change the maximum number of records that View Administrator can display:
- On one of the View Connection Server instances in a group, use a suitable editor such as ADAM ADSI Edit to change the value of the pae-NameValuePair attribute AdminEventCount under CN=AdminEventMonitor,OU=Global,OU=Properties,DC=vdi,DC=vmware,DC=int.
- After saving your changes in ADAM, restart all the View Connection Server instances in the group to make the change take effect.
