Performing local administration of vCenter Server Heartbeart from an account that did not perform the installation (1022867)

Symptoms

If vCenter Server Heartbeat is administered locally using an account that is different than the account used to perform the installation, you may see the error:
 
Windows cannot find the local profile and is logging you on with a temporary profile. Changes you make to this profile will be lost when you log off.

Purpose

This article provides the post installation configuration steps necessary when vCenter Server Heartbeat is administered locally by an account that is different account than the account used to perform the installation. 

Resolution

When vCenter Server Heartbeat is administered locally by an account that is different account than the account used to perform the installation, perform these post installation configuration steps:
  1. Open the vCenter Server Heartbeat Console, select your server, then navigate to Data > File Filters.
  2. Click Add Inclusion Filter... and enter C:\Users\<user_to_replicate>\** , and click OK.
  3. Wait for the <user_to_replicate> folder to synchronize between the active and passive servers. Alternatively, navigate to Data > Replication and click Full System Check.
  4. When the File System Synchronization Status is Synchronized, log off and log in using the desired user account (assuming that account is available on the active server).
  5. After a successful login, remove the C:\Users\<user_to_replicate>\** filter if necessary.
  6. To correct missing vCenter Server Heartbeat related Start Menu entries orDesktop shortcuts (assuming vCenter Server Heartbeat was installed with the Create icons on Desktop option selected).
    1. Manually copy the Start Menu vCenter Server Heartbeat entries from:

      C:\Users\<vCenterServerHeartbeat_install_user>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\VMware

      To:

      C:\Users\<current_user>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\VMware

    2. Manually copy the Desktop shortcut entries from:

      C:\Users\<vCenterServerHeartbeat_install_user>\Desktop

      To:

      C:\Users\<current_user>\Desktop 

      Note: If UAC is enabled on your vCenter Server Heartbeat node, use the Run As Administrator option while trying to access these shortcuts/menu entries.
Note: VMware recommends using the vCenter ServerHeartbeat Console to administer your node remotely. The vCenter ServerHeartbeat Console can be installed from the vCenter Server Heartbeat kit by choosing the Install Client Tools Only option.
