Solution

Summaries and Symptoms

This bulletin includes all software updates required to install VMware ESX 4.0 Update 2 on a host. A host will not be considered running Update 2 until it is compliant with this bulletin. For more information, see the KBs for the individual bulletins.

Deployment Considerations

If you are running ESX with Cisco Nexus 1000V product, then you will need to install the corresponding VEM Patch Release along with this patch. See KB 1021571 for more information.

Patch Download and Installation

Download the patch zip file from http://support.vmware.com/selfsupport/download/ and install the bulletin using esxupdate from the command line of the host. For more information, see the ESX 4 Patch Management Guide.
