Performance Optimization for Service Console Network Interface (Virtual Switch Interface)

Details

Using network protocols such as SCP, FTP, or NFS while copying files to the ESX Server service console results in reduced network performance.

Solution

This issue is fixed in VMware ESX Server 3.0.2 and all higher versions. ESX 3.0.2 has optimized console OS vswif (Virtual Switch Interface) performance, especially for copying files to the service console.
