Duplicate IP packet and Failover Issues with Beacon Monitoring
Details
When beaconing set in the ON state, NIC teaming can result in duplicate IP packets being received when a virtual machine connected to the virtual switch pings to the console OS.
Failover does not always take place when beacon heartbeat is not received for a given link. In some cases where failover does happen, an invalid link is chosen. This results in a problem where some failures are handled and some are not.
Solution
The issues are fixed in VMware ESX Server 3.0.2 and all higher versions.
