Load Sharing of Network Traffic Might Not be Optimized for Flexible Virtual Network Adapter in a Teamed Configuration (10164)

Load balancing issues might occur in the following scenario:

The virtual machine is configured with "flexible" virtual network adapter (default configuration).
The virtual machine is connected to a virtual switch that is configured for NIC teaming with two or more physical adapters.
The NIC teaming policy used is "Route based on the original virtual port ID".

ESX Server 3.0.2. improves upon the "route based on port ID" load balance algorithm to optimize load sharing.
