Pegasus install queue failure error on restarting ESX Server (1015294)

Details

After upgrading to ESX Server 3.5 Update 5, when ESX Server is restarted, Pegasus install queue failure error is reported during the boot process. This issue occurs only if IBM Director is installed.

Solution

A probable workaround for this issue is to perform the following tasks:

  1. After upgrading the ESX Server, stop the cimserverd service using the following command:
    chkconfig --level 3 cimserverd off
  2. Restart the ESX Server.
  3. Start the cimserverd service using the following command:
    chkconfig --level 3 cimserverd on
  4. Restart the ESX Server
