Solution

Summaries and Symptoms

This patch fixes the following issues or adds the following enhancements for ESX 3.5 Update 5:

  • Fixes an issue where ESX Server installed on a Dell 6650 server with BCM5700 NICs might stop responding with a purple screen error.
  • tg3 NICs have a long history of problems with TSO (TCP segmentation offload) frames and their implementation does not provide any significant boost. Starting with this release, TSO frames are disabled on all tg3 NICs.
  • Corrects the driver version numbers to be compliant with the standard RPM versioning scheme.
