Setting up VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager with Partner Storage Arrays (1014610)
Purpose
VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager requires considerable knowledge of the partner storage array involved in the replication. Issues may arise due to incorrect replication and snapshot configuration. Issues may also arise due to requirements of naming conventions for the components involved.
This article highlights a number of documents written by technical support to assist with setting up VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager. These documents include the configuration steps that must be implemented on our partner storage arrays, and possible issues that may arise during the implementation of Site Recovery Manager (SRM) in your VMware environment. The level of detail within these documents may vary. Further reading of both VMware documentation and partner storage array documentation is required for production environments.
Depending on the storage array, you can find Readme, Release Notes, and Documentation in one or more of these locations:
- On the SRA package that you =download from VMware after uncompressing it.
- Inside the SRA installation directory (by default, C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager\scripts\SAN\<Your SRA>\)
- Your storage array vendor's website
Resolution
Note: With Site Recovery Manager 5.x the documentation is provided by the 3rd party storage vendors and is supplied with the appropriate SRA. To download the appropriate SRAs for your storage array see the VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager download page.

Note: The preceding links are correct as of August 23, 2010. If you find the link is broken, please provide feedback and a VMware employee will update the link.
Note: The SRA packages are sometimes available on the Vendor's website but you should always download it from the VMware SRM download page. The SRA is developed by the HW vendor, but the packages on VMware's site are the latest ones that have passed VMware certification.
