Performance charts do not display after upgrading to vCenter Server 4.0

Details

You are experiencing these issues with vSphere Client after upgrading from VirtualCenter Server to vCenter Server 4.0:
  • The performance tab is blank instead of displaying the overview performance charts.
  • There are no ESX host or virtual machine performance statistics.

Solution

To resolve the issue, configure Internet Explorer so that the vCenter Server is a trusted site:
  1. On the vCenter Server, launch Internet Explorer.
  2. Click Tools > Internet Options.
  3. In the Security tab, select Trusted sites and click Sites.
  4. In the Trusted Sites dialog box, enter your vCenter Server URL and click Add. This is either https://127.0.0.1 if running the vCenter Client on the vCenter Server itself or https://<vcenter_server_fqdn> when the vCenter Client is run remotely.
  5. Click Close then OK.
