View Composer database has discrepancies due to machine IDs
Symptoms
The symptoms are as follows:
There is a discrepancy in the View Composer DB due to the machine IDs
Linked clone pools are no longer able to be manipulated through the pool wizard in View
You may receive this error:
View composer is not available for this VC
Resolution
This issue occurs when VirtualCenter is moved from one host to another and the credentials are changed. To resolve the issue, create new pools.
Reinitialize the database to remove DB information on the linked clones. This causes the Linked clone pools to not be able to be manipulated but can continue to be connected through VMware View. To reinitialize the DB, remove and reinstall the View Composer install package.
After initialization, a new implementation of linked clones can be created through View Composer and the existing link clone pools can continue to be accessed through View.
