Probe deployment fails with error: communication problem between the server and probe

Symptoms

  • Deployment of probe through AppSpeed fails
  • You receive this error:

    Communication problem between Server and Probe. Check your network and firewall settings and try again.

Resolution

This failure occurs if there is a  major time difference between the host of the AppSpeed server and the destination host where the probe is deployed in the first ten minutes after deployment.
 
Synchronize the time between hosts before deploying the probe to resolve this issue.
 
To ensure that time on both hosts are in sync:
  1. Delete the probe.

    1. Click the Administration tab.
    2. Select the probe.
    3. Click Delete Probe.

  2. Synchronize time between the AppSpeed server host and the host the probes resides on.
  3. Redeploy probe.
