AppSpeed setup fails due to missing eth0
Symptoms
- During the setup of AppSpeed this error appears after the setting the Management card from DHCP:
Failed to complete setup. Exiting.
- If this setup was performed on an already running installation, and afterward, a restart is attempted, this error appears:
System is in tunnel mode - will not start AppSpeed
Resolution
This issue occurs when VMware Tools is switching chipsets during the hardware recognition process. This causes the NIC to be unavailable.
Wait for 1-2 minutes for the eth0 to be available and rerun the setup. This provides enough time for VMware Tools to recognize the hardware.
If waiting does not resolve the issue, restart the virtual machine for AppSpeed server and rerun setup.
