The Knowledge Base has a new look

Purpose

This article provides details about the new knowledge base interface. We have not changed the content, only how it is presented to you.

Resolution

Things you need to know about the new knowledge base:
  • Tabbed browsing for different repositories.

You can now choose which repository you want to search by choosing the KB Article, Product Documentation, and Communities tab. You no longer have to choose one repository and search only that. Just click the tab for the content you want to review.

  • Product landing pages.

The product landing pages let you refine your search to a specific product. To view a product landing page, click the product you want to view under the Browse Products heading on the home page. The Most Popular and Most Recent tabs display content related specifically to the product landing page you are on.

  • Feedback is streamlined.

Feedback is now easier to provide because it is on the same page as the article, and there is only one question to complete. Along with that, you can rate the article using the stars at the top or bottom of the page.

  • The action icons and article information has moved.

The actions icons like Print, Bookmark, and Email, as well as the article information is displayed beside article content.

  • Search from any screen.

You can now perform a search from any screen in the knowledge base. This means you no longer have to click Back when viewing an article to perform another search. Just type the new search in the Search field and click Search.
