Installing Linked-Mode and ADAM

This article provides information about installing linked mode and ADAM.

Requirements for linked mode and ADAM:

If nodes are on different domains, you must create a trust relationship between machines.
Machines must be able to ping each other with FQDNs.
Install using domain accounts.
Domain accounts must have privileges on the local machine (on all Linked mode vCenters) to install into join mode.

Checking data in ADAM:

Click Start > Programs > ADAM > ADAM ADSI Edit.
In Connection Settings, connect to the node using Distinguished name (DN) or naming context and click OK

For example, dc=virtualcenter,dc=vmware,dc=int.
Right-click the added node and click Connect to.
