Unable to deploy linked clones and provisioning fails with the error reject prepare

Symptoms

The symptoms are:

Unable to deploy linked clones
Clones fail during provisioning with the following message:

reject prepare
Windows Event Viewer and Connection Broker logs indicate that there is an issue contacting the primary domain

Resolution

This issue can occur if the ADAM install is set to use anonymous login. Domain changes prevent anonymous login.

Logins with administrative privileges must be used for ADAM to request user account information from domain controllers and to list network shares on file servers and workstations.
