DE (German/Deutsche) keyboard input is not handled correctly in desktops opened from View Client using HP RGS protocol

Details

Input from a DE (German/Deutsche) language keyboard is not displayed correctly in a desktop that you open from View Client using HP RGS Protocol. When you type the DE characters äöüß, what appears in the desktop is #,8- or ';[-.

Solution

To work around this issue, install and activate the DE language on both the host machine and the desktop running in View Client. When the keyboard mapping is consistent for both host and guest, the issue does not occur.

In View 3.1 the View Client for Windows can use HP Remote Graphics Software (RGS) as the display protocol when connecting to HP Blade PCs, HP Workstations, and HP Blade Workstations. VMware View 3.1 supports HP RGS Version 5.2.5. VMware does not bundle or license HP RGS with View 3.1.
