Summary

This patch resolves the issue of VMkernel generated firewall message on service console, and adds the man page entry for newly added options of the esxcfg-firewall command.  This fix also provides two additional functionalities for adding or removing iptable modules. The --moduleAdd module functionality allows the user to add the iptables module manually, and the --moduleDel module functionality allows the user to remove the iptables module manually.

ESX303-200905402-SG adds support for passive mode FTP.

Patch Download and Installation

Note: All virtual machines on the host must be either shut down or migrated using VMotion before applying the patch. A reboot of the ESX Server host is required after applying this patch.

To update ESX Server 3.0.3 hosts when not using VMware Update Manager, download the most recent patch bundle from http://support.vmware.com/selfsupport/download/ and install the bundle using esxupdate from the command line of the host.
