An Auto Switchover Started Event
Purpose
This article gives details about the Auto Switchover Started event.
Resolution
An Auto-switchover is triggered if the switchover action was selected in the VMware vCenter Server Heartbeat Plug-in configuration. The switchover can be selected as an action if the current parameters have a certain value for a certain period of time. The automatic switchover can be set as a recovery action for the first, second or third failure.
If Configure Network Monitoring is enabled, an Auto-Switchover can be triggered when the principal (public) network connection is lost. This is configured by selecting the Failover if the Public Connection is Lost option. If this occurs, it is viewed as an Auto-Switchover event, however, replication does not start automatically and manual intervention is required to restart replication.
