Removing a View Manager ADAM Instance Causes an Error

Details

Removing a View Manager ADAM instance (Adam Instance VMwareVDMDS) causes an error (either 1722 or 1753) if no other directory service servers can be contacted in an environment with more than one connection server.

Solution

To work around this issue:

Click Skip in the error dialog to allow the removal of ADAM Instance VMwareVDMDS to complete.
Use the vdmadmin.exe command line tool to remove the replica agreement from the remaining replica servers in the View Manager environment.
